Recently, the world has witnessed rapid developments in the field of genetic engineering, providing an unprecedented opportunity to understand the human genetic structure represented by the human genome. This genome, which is deeply embedded in human biology, has paved important paths for understanding the legal aspects, especially concerning the possibility of performing legal actions on it. This includes discussing legitimate uses and how they can be utilized within legal boundaries, as well as addressing illegitimate uses while noting the variation or lack of solid legal frameworks governing such uses. The human genome, under no circumstances, can be considered a subject of rights to be used through sale, donation, or waiver outside the proper legal frameworks. Therefore, this research focuses on studying the legal uses of the human genome and analyzing their legitimacy in light of general rules in civil law and relevant special laws.
The research consists of an introduction, two sections, and a conclusion. In the first section, we defined the human genome, and in the second section, we discussed the uses of the human genome.
