Abstract
Iraq faced several challenges after the recent political transformations. Intellectual extremism considers the most dangerous phenomenon in Iraqi society. Intellectual extremism has affected several aspects, such as societal unity and threatened national security and public order. This research studies the ability of the administration of using its authority to confront the effects of intellectual extremism. The role of administration in this field is raised due to the societal challenges that affect administrative activities. The legislator neglects to create legal texts that give the administration the ability to combat intellectual extremism. The research divid into three sections. The first section includes the concept of intellectual extremism and its causes. The second section clarifies the legislative position to confront intellectual extremism. Finally, the third section studies the role of administrative institutions in confronting the phenomenon of intellectual extremism, such as the religious, educational, and media institutions. The research uses the descriptive approach for the purpose of understanding the means which the administration has in combating intellectual extremism. In conclusion, the result of the research is that the administration must confront intellectual extremism, despite the lack of clear legislative texts that give the administration this role.
