Abstract
Political concepts have preoccupied thinkers and generated widespread debate among theorists in general. This is because political concepts form the fundamental structure that determines the shape and nature of the political system in any country. The concept of opposition is one that is almost inseparable from the political discourse of any politician, regardless of their idealism. This concept is thus one of the inseparable and intertwined concepts of power; that is, power is always accompanied and inseparable from the concept of opposition, as it is the instrument through which the excesses of any authority are checked.

The importance of this study of the concept of opposition within its contemporary Islamic framework stems from the significant impact this concept has on contemporary political systems, for several reasons: The concept of opposition constitutes an undeniable reality in any political system; opposition encompasses numerous concepts, including freedom, equality, and justice; therefore, any contemporary political system that denies these concepts loses its legitimacy; and the space for expression and opinion afforded by the opposition may not be available in all political systems. Consequently, it is essential to establish a culture of opposition, which cannot be overlooked in a contemporary Islamic political system characterized by the peaceful transfer of power based on Islamic principles.
