Abstract
Terrorism is the worst and most dangerous phenomenon known to human societies and one of the most prominent actors that have affected the structure of the international system, which has increased in recent years in a dynamic manner and many countries have suffered from its repercussions and calamities, including Iraq. Terrorism represents a crime at all levels and a violation of human rights, international principles and religious teachings, and its perpetrators bear international responsibility, in addition to posing a threat to societal, economic and security security and political stability and a reason for disrupting the balance of international peace and security because this phenomenon carries brutal, extremist and violent ideas and actions that degrade societies. Iraq is one of the countries that has had many stations of being affected by terrorist organizations, and despite the many challenges that Iraq has faced in combating terrorism, such as social, economic and political challenges, we will focus in our research on the security challenges in combating terrorism in terms of loose weapons, border security, organized crime and corruption, as they are the most important and dangerous challenge in reducing terrorist acts in Iraq.
