Abstract
Intellectual extremism and terrorism are among the biggest crises that the international community has faced recently. They are two phenomena that represent a denial of human rights and democracy, generate chaos and insecurity, and threaten national unity in every society under pretexts and arguments that are not based on any religion, legitimacy, law, or culture. From this standpoint, we decided to study this phenomenon by arriving at a concept of intellectual extremism that is consistent with the subject of this study, and then identifying the relationship between intellectual extremism and terrorism, in addition to researching the most important ways to confront this phenomenon represented by joint international efforts in order to limit the results and effects of this phenomenon.
We relied on more than one scientific research method: The analytical legal method: This is done by analyzing international legal legislations concerned with confronting intellectual extremism, and analyzing actual international practices in this field, in addition to jurisprudential opinions and ideas according to a scientific, philosophical, and foundational path: The descriptive method: This is done by describing facts and events accurately as they are and transferring them faithfully from their primary sources and documenting them scientifically without personal considerations that may leave an impact on the content of the research.
