Abstract
The waters swallowed whole cities throughout history, and sank thousands of ships, as well as embracing hundreds of planes, whether military or civilian, that fell into the seas. This rubble has become a submerged human heritage. There are several international agreements that seek to protect it as a common heritage for all humanity, including the Underwater Cultural Heritage Convention 2001
